#BatSeries – Game 5 Update
What an inning. What a game. What a series. To us it was one of the best short series we’ve ever seen, with comebacks, extra-inning “free baseball,” unending, jaw-dropping plays. And when it came to the #BatSeries, this Game 5 epitomized the series by spreading the hits, RBIs and game-climaxing at-bats among multiple baseball bat brands.
Here are the lines of the difference-makers for Game 5

#BatSeries – Game 3 Update
With pitchers hitting in the National League park, our first broken bats of the #BatSeries, and the Mets waking up at the plate, tonight saw the most traditional bat brand in the game stepping up and coming back to make the other brands nearly invisible.
After two nights of minimal productivity, Louisville Slugger brought it tonight, accounting for nearly 3/4 of all RBI. With 11 TOTAL game RBI, Louisville Slugger was responsible for eight.
Louisville Slugger: 8 RBI
Mets: Granderson (2), Wright (4), Cespedes (1)
Royals: Rios (1)
Marucci: 1 RBI
Mets: Conforto (1)
Victus: 1 RBI
Mets: Uribe (1)
Dove Tail: 1 RBI
Royals: Hosmer (1)
Game 3 Broken Bats
We at were wondering when this was going to happen! And tonight it did. The inevitable broken bat greeted us not just once, or even twice — but THREE times in one game! Two of them were Louisville Slugger bats, and one was Marucci. We hate to see beautiful bats break. But you know, 100 MPH sliders tend to do that.
Here’s how they broke down:
Louisville Slugger
Murphy’s 1st inning broken bat out
Orlando’s 6th inning broken bat out
Marucci
Perez’s 2nd inning broken bat foul ball, & his broken bat single that followed in the same at-bat.

*If you know of any mistakes we’ve made, and have visual evidence of the correction, please tweet us the fix @Baseball_Bats or email us at info@baseballbats.net.
**Do you know what bat Kendrys Morales used for his hit? Also, Perez used an unconfirmed, non-Maruccia bat for at least one at-bat. Do you know what it was?
#BatSeries – Game 1 Update
Winner of the Night: Dove Tail Bats
Dove Tail Bats (DTB) stole the show by providing the most epic and important moments of an overall 5-hour game.
Gordon’s Game-Tying Solo Shot: Gordon swung his DTB stick when launching his 438-foot solo home run to tie the game in desperation mode in the bottom of the 9th.
Hosmer’s Game-Winning RBI: Dove Tail also provided the stick that Hosmer used to pull through after five hours and 14 innings of nail-biting baseball. His DTB-triggered deep fly to right field was easily far enough to score the speedy Escobar.
Speaking of Escobar …
Runner Up: Old Hickory
Old Hickory Bats (“Old Hick”) started the game with a huge energy boost by the way of a rare but exiting inside-the-park home run from Alcides Escobar. The ball was crushed to the warning track in left-center field, and the speedy Escobar sprinted around the bases in less than 15 seconds.

The Most Random (Dumbest?) Stat of the Game
When stats like On-base Plus Slugging and Batting Average on Balls in Play become too mainstream, we like to delve into the important data (with our exceptional grasp of Excel 2007). So now we bring you the answer to the most important question of Game 1: What were the most popular colors of bats during Game 1 of the World Series?
If you’re a two-tone lover, you win! Here’s another way to look at the numbers:
Total Two-tone bats used: 35
Natural: 31
Black: 29
Gray: 6
Brown: 3

#BatSeries: The Bats Way to Watch the Series
IMPORTANT NOTE: Players often switch bats out-of-the-blue, and last minute, for myriad reasons (the pitcher they’re facing, the game situation, a slump, a hot streak, a superstition, a practical joke … who knows!) But rest assured that BaseballBats.net has extensively researched each player’s tendencies, found visual proof of the recent bat usage, and even spoken directly with representatives from each Bat Brand. This allowed us to compile an advanced list of which bats we expect each player to use. However, our staff will also be viewing the game in real-time in an attempt to catch any alterations in our expectations. If you find any inaccuracies, please tweet us @Baseball_Bats and we will fix it as quickly as possible.
