Axe Bat Overview

The Axe Bat is developed by Baden Sports, who states that their Axe Bat technology is “the latest in cutting-edge bat design.” Just like you’d assume by the name, the bat’s most obvious feature is its unique, axe-shaped handle — which is approved for play at all amateur and professional levels. In fact, it was the first bat with an asymmetric handle to be approved by Major League Baseball.

The bat has received media attention over the last few years as it has penetrated the Major Leagues and much of the Boston Red Sox dugout. Players who use the bat, and researchers for Baden Sports, state that the ergonomic design of the bat’s axe-shaped handle provides better bat control, grip stability and power transfer, and may also reduce the risk of hand injuries.

Axe Bats prices range from $40 training bats to the newest, slickest $429.99 BBCOR model.
